Take a moment to study the combinations available on the tableau. Plan how to use them before making your first play.
If two cards totaling fourteen are in the same fan, remove as soon as possible the upper card in this
fan, in preference to other available cards of its
rank.
Look for "criss-crosses" between piles. As an example: if one pile contains 8, 5 (from left to right) and another 9, 6 - it would be a mistake to leave these combinations untouched while discarding the remaining fives, sixes, eights and nines.
